Not sure how typical my experience was, but it was my first trying this. Shipped a motorcycle from Northern CA to Oregon. Had a specific window that the shipment needed to be delivered with about 3 weeks of lead time.

Positives:
-easy to set up request, initial quote was competitive
-driver communicated pick up time and was there when promised, same at delivery
-bike made the trip in good shape and was covered by tarp for majority of journey.

These aspects could have been better:
-initial price quote was too low by about $100 or 22%
-after initial request for pick up, no communication from Magic Carpet for more than a week until...
-only given a few hours notice of driver being available and when pick could to happen. I work almost an hour away from home where motorcycle was so had to scramble to make it work.
-driver was hard worker and did a good job, but did not have proper ramp to get motorcycle on or off front of flatbed location with minimal room because a car was taking up most of the space. He also had no one with him so he needed help on both ends pushing a 550 pound motorcycle up and down a 1" by 4" piece of wood about 4 feet long at an angle of about 60 degrees 3 feet off the ground. This was very difficult and dangerous. If we lost control it could have hurt us and the bike.
-was promised frequent communication of location of the bike during the trip but that never happened. Not sure why.
