The people that I spoke to at Magic Carpet all seemed quite nice, but this does not make up for my very unpleasant experience. After a good price quote, I got a call back saying that the car would be picked up immediately for an "expedited" shipping for an extra $150.

I paid the money, and then everything went wrong. The car was picked up, but sat in a lot for more than a week before being put on another truck heading in my direction. My contact was at times unreachable and did not do well in calling me back when things went south.

So to make a long story short, the car took 14 days to reach me despite having paid extra money SPECIFICALLY to get it shipped in a rush. I understand that Sh!t happens - the car did not make it in accordance with their promise - that is fine. The irksome aspect is their complete lack of ownership - the right thing to do would have been to refund the extra fee.

By the end of it, I was getting doubtful that I would ever get the car. Thankfully I did.

Adam is confused.... His initial quote was 999 total and we weren't having any luck finding a ride for this client. When we have problems with certain loads we'll solicit trucks to find out if they might go off their beaten paths to accommodate a client. We had a truck that said they were in the area and could pick up the vehicle that day however the truck wanted $150 more, which the customer agreed to. There was never any mention expedited delivery to CA for that price. Our company doesn't offer expedited delivery because of the nature of this business. We never ever have and never will. We do offer a "guaranteed pick up" but it's $400 more than a standard quote. additionally 14 days from the North east to the west coast is pretty standard. My advice to this client would be READ YOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
