Mediocre at Best

I contacted Magic Carpet on January 6, after reading their reviews on this particular website. I was assigned a specific account manager; initially, the conversation was informative and helpful. I explained that I would be out of the country and that I was uneasy about the timing of the shipment, etc. The Magic Carpet rep assured me that would not be an issue and that transit times were generally reliable because they only work with reputable carriers. The quote was within the range of competitors, $664 (after rebate) and I felt positive about shipping my vehicle through their company.
However, in follow up phone calls, which I had to initiate, the account rep did not appear to have worked on my order and was rather short. Again, I explained that I would be unavailable and had set up for my insurance agent to act on my behalf, accept delivery and take possession of the vehicle. She assured me that she would check on it and call me back, which she did the same day. She stated she had found a carrier to ship my vehicle on the requested route but the cost would go up to $834 for transit. I agreed, in this instance you are at the mercy of others (I understand this is typical in this type of industry but it is still troublesome). I asked her to send me a copy of the insurance policy, which she emailed me on Jan 10. She followed up with a phone call the next day, stating that my vehicle had been picked up the evening of Tuesday, January 10 with an expected date of arrival on Monday, January 16, "possibly Sunday" if it was acceptable. Again, I agreed, the sooner the better. I asked that my agent be contacted for updates on the location of the vehicle, to coordinate the arrival.
My agent ended up contacting the Carrier directly, who said they could not have picked up the vehicle on the previous Tuesday, because they hadn't received the correct paperwork from Magic Carpet until Friday. Finally, after several international phone calls, I was able to ensure that my vehicle had indeed arrived (albeit very late).

This was a mediocre transaction at best. It was disorganized by Magic Carpet and extremely inconvenient. I would not recommend their company in the least.

FELICIA BOND @ 360-210-4892, 602-354-2851 felicia@magiccarpetautotransport.com Hello Susan, I read your review and am completely confused by your feedback. I believe your lack of communication is between you and your friend. Rather myself, your friend, and the carrier. You placed your order with me on the 6th. Your vehicle was dispatched to a carrier on the 10th. During the 4 day period I contacted you several times with updates. Because your vehicle was loading from an auction, I worked with Cheryl at Manheim and the carrier to ensure a smooth loading. I worked with the dealership because you didn't have the VIN and plate # for the loading at the auction. I worked with the carrier and your friend for the drop.I informed your friend on Tuesday it would deliver Thursday...which it did. Your situation was extremely high maintenance and your comments show your difficulty to please. Thanks Felicia
