So followed the 5 star ratings and went with Magic Carpet as there is no charge/hold or guarantee to my credit card until the car is loaded. Other companies will ask for a deposit that is non-refundable until 14 days after you commit and they are unable to fill your order.
Kathy was REALLY GREAT and patient with me. It took a week to find a transport company to deliver my car and this may be because I wanted to minimize the costs of shipping and was willing to wait a bit. She was really available and returned any calls promptly. Others in the office were also really pleasant.
On the same day that I talked to Magic Carpet, I MADE THE MISTAKE of using one of those internet websites that gets you free quotes from a host of different transport companies. This is where I got to see the underbelly of the industry and got CALL AFTER CALL with low ball quotes stating that they needed me to commit right now. I would strongly avoid submitting your info to these websites. Needless to say I felt I was in good hands with Kathy and elected to stay the course until she found a transporter. Overall MC did a really great job and I would use them again. The trucker was great as well and they arrived as scheduled and were very professional.
