My move was cross country, from San Francisco to North Carolina, and I had not one but two cars to move: a Mini and an SUV. I researched lots of companies and reviews before narrowing my choices down to two: Magic Carpet and one other. Got quotes from both, which matched within a hundred dollars or so, came to around $2300 for both vehicles.
I first tried to book with the other company, but they were not very responsive in finding a carrier, and gave me little assurance that I could trust them for such a valuable transaction. However, Don was prompt and re-assuring in his communications. He answered all my initial questions, reassured me that all their carriers were trusted and proven, and helped relieve my anxiety.
Once the carrier was assigned, they stayed in touch and let me know more specifically when the pickup time would be (they were one day early), and made sure I was available. The cars were inspected by walk-around, loaded, and underway quickly.
Don kept in touch throughout the process, was responsive to both email and phone calls even outside of business hours, and was infinitely patient and polite. The cars arrived at the destination a few days early, and I was not available to meet them. The carrier stored them for me at no charge, and delivered them in perfect condition on the day we had originally agreed. They even washed them before delivery!
Don and Magic Carpet definitely earn 5 stars for service, and I will go back to them for my next transport needs.
