After researching shippers on the Internet, I decided to use M2Reeves because they had good reviews, a good website, and provide a truly instant quote - not like many other shippers, who will provide one only by email or phone. What I did not realize is that they are a broker, meaning they will setup and coordinate the shipping of your car, but they are not THE shippers of your car. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different from what I expected.

The price for my vehicle was about average in comparison to others. I thought it was going to be a very good deal, as I scheduled the pickup location which happened to be an island in Washington state's Puget Sound. Unfortunately for me, M2Reeves handed off the pickup to an aggressive shipper who wanted me to drive to Seattle so they could pick it up there. The issue for me was that's a two-and-a-half hour drive with a ferry ride at each end, not to mention getting back to my house. After lots of back-and-forth with M2Reeves and the shipper, we finally agreed on a pickup location in Bellingham. Still required a ferry ride and a drive, but at least much closer. Lesson learned: Make sure you demand from the shipper to comply with your schedule, not theirs. They want to get as many cars as they can, from convenient pick up locations, and don't care about your time or cost to get to their favorite pickup points.

Once the date and time in Bellingham was agreed to, all seemed ok. I checked the ferry schedule to make sure I could get it to return home after the pickup, scheduled for 1pm. At 3pm, no driver at the pickup location. I left the keys with a nearby business, and headed home. The driver finally showed at 4:30, almost four hours after the agreed-to time! Another lesson learned - get the driver's phone number and keep in constant contact.

The transport and delivery were ok, no big deal. No issues with the car, and I paid the driver in cash the remaining balance due. He was a few days earlier than M2 had projected, which was ok. The car was quite dirty, but what do you expect from an open frame truck during winter?

So. Overall, it was more effort than I expected, and the cost was higher than I felt it should be for all my "troubles". I will say that M2 was very responsive and helpful whenever I called, and the driver was quite nice too. Would I use them again? Probably, as I am much more informed now, and could anticipate and plan for the issues.
