The Worst Autotransport Experience

My car was transported by J&D Autotransport in June, 2005.

They transported my Cadillac from Sunnyvale, CA to Austin, TX. At pick-up, the car was in pristine condition, less than 15k miles on it. I even took pictures of it when it was loaded on. Along the way, I did have the drivers number, I would call and he would keep giving excuses, the truck broke down x 2, it was his birthday so he was taking a day off (in the middle of nowhere, by yourself?)

Anyways, running way behind schedule, he called my uncle in Austin to meet him in a parking lot at 2 am to pick up the car. Being dark, my uncle couldn't properly inspect the car, and also at the pushing of the driver that he was late for another drop off, my uncle glanced it over and signed the release.

Then, he sat in the driver's seat and tried adjusting the electric mirrors...nothing happened.

Anyways, to cut a long story short, during the transport process...the mirror had been sheered of the car...the driver opened up the innards of the door to try to get the mirror to stick back in place. In fact, his fingerprints smudges were all over the inside and innards of the door. It cost me $1050 because the electric mirror, door parts, painting of the mirror, and labor. I asked for $650 back...nope, didn't get a dime.

Now...the worst...Diana of J&D...at first she tried to make excuses that the driver wouldn't do such a thing, and it couldn't be him....more excuses. She tried everything, blaming my uncle, saying we signed the release. I even took many detailed pictures of the vehicle...this went on back and forth with her excuses for 2 months. Finally I gave up...I couldn't deal with her complete lack of honesty in dealing with serious fraudulent mistakes she and her company made.

I would NEVER anyone I know use them ever again.
