I contacted Hilton to arrange transport for my Toyota Corolla from Los Angeles to Washington, DC. I chose Hilton based on its excellent ratings on this website plus it was very close to my home. The price was $775, which was very competitive with other quotes I received. I learned that $75 went to Hilton and $700 to the transport company.
Nichole arranged with Ace Auto Trans, Inc. to actually transport the car. Hilton and Ace evidently do a lot of business together. I told Nichole when I would like to have the car in DC, and she arranged the necessary pickup dates. She gave me a 2 day window, and said Ace would contact me a day before they would pick up the car. That was basically the extent of Hilton's involvement. I guess I could have contacted Ace directly and perhaps saved $75, but this was my first experience with auto transport.
The actually transport experience with Ace was also successful. (See separate review.) They didn't contact me until the same day that they wanted to pick up the car, but were apologetic. The driver got caught in Friday afternoon LA traffic, and phoned me to ask whether it could be picked up on Sat. instead. But once it was picked up, it was shipped and transported without incident. It arrived on the 2nd day of the 3 day window for delivery that they gave me. Ace could have improved their service by being more proactive in keeping informed, but that is the only complaint I have.
The whole experience was executed much more smoothly than I had anticipated, so overall I am very satisfied with both Hilton and Ace. I would use them again if the need arose.
