Bought a new 2009 Corvette ZR1 from GA March 5th. Plans to leave country on 3/24-4/7/2009. Shopped carriers. All were $1400-$1600 with delivery after our return. FEDEX was approx. $2200. Spoke to them on 3/6. Told them we would only use them for delivery no later than 3/20 or earlier so we could enjoy the car for a weekend before we left for 2 weeks. They said they could do. We were still thinking over the extra $600-$800 on 3/7/2009 when dealer called to say they were picking up. I had never authorized FEDEX for pickup but figured they were going to hustle it up. Called FEDEX 3/10 for status. They told us 3/13 drop off. WOW! What a great company. Not quite, no show. Next, we ask for a firm, guaranteed drop of date. FEDEX after hours tells us absolutely 3/17 or 3/18 guaranteed period. No show. Call FEDEX, they say now scheduled for 3/24. What? We will be out of country. Apparently the driver is doing pickups & drop offs on SW U.S. Spoke to company. They say they'll "try" to get car to us by 3/23 PM. The eve before we leave? Why spend the extra $600-$800? Tried to talk with anyone. Tough luck attitude. I feel there was a bait & switch to tell me whatever I wanted to hear just to get my vehicle on their rig. When we got the 3/17-3/18 absolutely firm promise, we made weekend plans with hotel & the whole deal to take a great trip in a great new car. Screw us is the attitude we feel at FEDEX at this point.Very disappointing "topper" to a very pleasant buying experience from Maxie Price Chevrolet in Loganville, GA.
