My ordeal with Fairway Auto Transport was horrible and is still ongoing. So to sum things in as little words as possible. I contracted with Fairway Auto Transport on 7/7/2010 via Matt Jones to pick up my vehicle in Virginia and deliver it to California. I was told my vehicle will be picked up on 7/13/2010. However, the vehicle was not picked up until 7/16/2010. Fairway subcontracted with Frank Masika of Towne Automotive. To make a long story short...Fairway never did their research on Frank Masika and Towne Automotive. Towne Automotive had been put out of business and their insurance had lasped. Frank Masika is known in the Virginia area as a serial car thief. He has a criminal record for stealing people's vehicles and reselling them. He has also been stealing parts and selling them. I filed police reports and reported the car stolen in Virginia and California. Luckily, California Highway Patrol stopped a man by the name of Travis- driving my car near Arizona. He was supposedly hired by Frank Masika to DRIVE my vehicle to California. I paid to get my car DELIVERED ON A TRUCK!!!! Not to be driven. I could have done that myself!!!! I had to fly to Arizona and pay a $470 police impound fee to retrive my vehicle. I contacted Carl of Fairway Auto Transport to make them aware of their screw up and requested they refund my deposit of $165. Fairway will no longer return my calls. I reported Fairway Auto Brokers and Towne Automotive to the Better Business Bureau. I'm currently waiting to see what actions BBB are taking. Towne Automotive is already out of business and filed bankrupcty in 2006; so it is difficult for the BBB to go after them, but I am looking to pursue the matter in civil court. Fairway will be added to the lawsuit if my deposit fee is not returned.
