eBay should NOT refer to this horrible company

I bought a car on eBay and thought I'd consider shipping rather than renting a trailer and driving 1000 miles each way myself. So I called the lowest-price quote of the four carriers eBay referred me to on the auction page. I've never used a company to move a car, and I was being very cautious. So I called them and got a quote - the same as the eBay page which was $745. I decided to sleep on it and would call them back.

I called the next day to schedule the move. I got a different customer service rep ... who told me the previous quote didn't consider that my location was somewhat remote, and that it would actually cost more. I told them this didn't seem fair, and the somewhat rude fellow said fine and scheduled the move at the original price. They said that a carrier would be found within 10 days.

Well, 10 days later, no carrier. Then 20 days and no carrier. No response to my email. Call them, spend 10 minutes on hold, and then get told that they're working on it. No explanation of the real problem, which they alluded to up front - my location is not on the way to anywhere and for $745 no carrier would ever take the contract. So I emailed them and suggested terminating the move in a big city 6 hours away and I'd take it the rest of the way. I got an email back saying "looking into it" and then never heard from them again. Terrible, horrible customer service and poorly trained staff.

Eventually I gave up, about 6 weeks later, and called to cancel and get a refund of the $195 they'd been holding for the entire time. I got the same somewhat rude fellow who by this point was now quite rude. They told me they'd send my refund request "to accounting" and then hung up.

Guess what? 10 days later, and still no refund on my credit card. So I called to dispute the transaction before the statement was up. Still no refund. At least my credit card company is helping!

What a horrible experience! I can't believe that eBay provides referrals to this company. Save yourself the grief and do not use Express Auto Transport!
