I received a quote from Kelly for transporting my vehicle from RI to MT. Kelly made it sound like there was a carrier right there waiting for one more pick up and I better hurry. She also said Exceptional Auto has a lot of connections and is very well respected.

Well, I sign the contract for $1450. Kelly said that my truck would be picked up within 3-5 days and I should have it within 4-5 days after pickup. Kelly said she would email me the carrier's name and phone number. I waited around for 3 days and never heard anything. So I tried calling Kelly and she never answered her phone. I called at various times during a two day period and she never answered (I suspect the company has a computer system that automatically displays your quote and order info when you call and they use it to ignore customers they don't want to deal with).

I finally got a hold of someone on their customer service line. The rep. said there was an issue with the carrier's insurance and they were looking for a new one. The rep. said they would have one within 48 hrs. I waited a few more days so I called up and asked what was going on. They said they found a carrier and they were finalizing the order. I should hear something with 48 hours. I waited some more and called back. They said there was another issue and their manager Jason was handling it. I called Jason and he told me the deal with the carrier fell through but there was another one nearby. Jason calls me back a day later and says a carrier is willing to transport it for $2000. I couldn't believe it. $2000.

After waiting around for almost two weeks I said ok. I asked Jason, when will he send me the carrier's info. He told me within a couple of hours and he told me he would send me a price quote change form. After three days I never received the carrier's info or price change form.
Jason also told me the price would be $2000 minus the $125 deposit, so the final price would be $1,875. When I finally got in touch with the carrier and talked to him, he told me that I would owe him $2,000, not the $1,875 Jason told me. The carrier also told me I would have to drive almost 2.5 hours miles away to pick up my vehicle since they would not deliver to my door. (I originally said I wanted it to my door and Jason told me the carrier would deliver it to my door).

Since I needed my truck and had some help from I friend, I drove down to pick up my truck.

After dealing with the fiasco I had to put up with, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EXCEPTIONAL AUTO TRANSPORT TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. THEY ARE EXCEPTIONALLY DISHONEST AND ARE NOT VERY ORGANIZED!!!! If you need your vehicle shipped go with Dependable Auto Shippers or Reedy Auto Transport.
