*If you are looking for a business to do what is right and honorable, this is not the one for you*
In our situation, Door-to-Door chose a carrier that had a less than average DOT rating over the past 24 months (I learned after the fact) add to that during the whole ordeal you are about to read about, no one from Door-to-Door EVER returned a telephone call or email we sent.
Granted, we signed off on delivery after picking the car up at night and inspected by the light of a lighted billboard the driver parked under. The car looked good then but two dents (on the roof) and a very small tear on the convertible top that could only be caused in loading or unloading process became evident the next morning. A statement from the seller indicates the roof to be in practically new condition. The pick-up notes from the driver have no mention whatsovever of two dents and a tear in the convertible roof.
Both companies state it is OUR mistake because we signed for delivery and didn't note damage while all through this process having more than adequate evidence the damaged was caused in transit.
I want to work with businesses, service providers and individuals that will do what is right instead of cowardly hiding behind the small print of an agreement.

We want to thank Russell for his feedback in this manner. This 1983 BMW was fully inspected on pickup and on delivery was walked around for15 min. under a heavily lighted area (like the shipper stated) to avoid situations like this. Two weeks later we got a call from Mrs. Lemonds stated there was a small tear in the ragtop, we explained since some time has lapsed since delivery and you sighed off on the car it will be hard for you to be reinbursed through the insurance company. She was being very kind so we asked her to get a estimate done and we will somehow work it out with her. She sent us a estimate for 265 and change which we would pay so we can all move on. Then Russell (who wrote this review) got involved and things went south fast. Once he realized we were sending a check he immediatly resent a email for 1873.72 to replace to whole top on his 1983 car. At this point we saw us trying to do the right thing quickly was turning into extortion by treating this review if we did not pay. We advised Russell it would probably be best to take the insurance route and a file a claim since the car was fully insured during transit. In closing we went over and above with this customer even though there was a large time lapse from delivery and a signed inspection sheet. Even though we are 100% confident this did not happen during transit we will still honer the original estimate from Mrs. Lemonds. As you can see in prior reviews we always will stand by our customers as they are our livelyhood and how we feed our children.
