Not at all what was promised

The best thing I can say about Done Right Transport is that they got my car from Texas to Indiana. For some people, that's all that will matter. However, so many lies were told to me that I am not able to recommend them to others.

I was first contacted by Danny, the owner of the company, after I filled in a quote request somewhere online. He was very friendly and knew exactly what to say to make me sign up with them. Danny told me:
1. The company owned its own trucks and he was not a broker.
2. I could have a guaranteed pick-up and delivery dates.
3. I would get a receipt for the cost of the transport that would be good enough to use for expense reimbursements, etc.
4. I could call him at any time on his direct line with any questions.
I paid a $100 deposit and was happy with the arrangements that I had made.

A week before my scheduled pick-up date, I tried to call the number given to me. The line was disconnected. I tried calling another number listed on the company's website. It was disconnected, too. At this point, I'm beginning to suspect that I've been scammed. I finally got through when I called a third number, but was dumped into voicemail. I left a message. I called during regular business hours, so I expected to be called back later that day. No one called me. No one called me the following day. Meanwhile, I sent numerous emails to Danny asking him to contact me and he never did.

Finally, I called again, managed to get connected to a person, but was put on hold for a long time as I waited to talk to Danny. Danny told me that everything was fine and that I should call back on Tuesday to get a estimate for the pick up time on Friday. I tried calling on Tuesday, got the voicemail again, left a message again, and never heard back again.

On Wednesday I called, and was told that the driver was in town and would pick up my car in an hour or two. WHAT? The car wasn't supposed to be picked up until Friday! I wasn't ready for it to be picked up! But I agreed because my car HAD to get to its destination. A few minutes later, the driver of the truck called and asked if I could drive my car 30 miles to where the truck was located so that the driver didn't have to deal with traffic. Nope. I'm expecting door-to-door service. Plus, how in the world would I get home if I drove my car 30 miles away?

So the driver agreed to drive the 30 miles, but managed to get lost on the way to the pick-up location. When he finally arrived, I discovered that it was NOT a Done Right truck at all- it was a subcontractor. Done Right was just another broker. The driver also got lost on the way to the delivery location, but that's technically not Done Right's issue.

As soon as my car was delivered, I emailed Danny and asked him to send the receipt that he promised. I didn't get it. I emailed him again. I didn't get it. I emailed him again. I didn't get it. I finally called and Danny had the nerve to ask me to post a review up for his company for a $5 rebate. First, $5 is chump change. Second, if I had agreed to this, I know I would have never seen the $5. I turned down his offer and told Danny that I would post a review after he sent me a receipt. He promised to send the receipt later that day. I didn't get it for another two days- and it wasn't even a receipt for the whole shipping! It was just a receipt for the $100 deposit, not what I needed to file for an expense reimbursement.

So beware of the smooth talking. Done Right will say anything to get your business. If all you care about is getting your car from point A to point B, they are probably okay. If you want honesty, look somewhere else.

Laura, Thank-you for your pleasant review. I'm glad to hear that your car arrived safely, on time and at a great price. We are sorry that the communication on our end was not up to par. We'll take the hit for that one, although that issue has been corrected. We are also sorry for insinuating that you were a chump, by insulting you with an unreasonable offer of motivation. With that said, we will gladly offer you a discount on your next move, if you so choose. Danny
