First Collector Car Purchase

Direct Express made my first collector car purchase a good experience.

A price of $575 was quoted for an enclosed truck and that is what I paid. No hidden costs.

We had to coordinate the pick up time which required a change to the first available pick up date of Thrusday 2/12 and changed to 2/14. The direct express customer service person was very understanding and quickly arranged to have another carrier dispatched. The communication between all parties was excellent. The pick up was to take place on monday or Tuesday 2/9 or 2/10. I received a call from Auto Hauler Transport on sunday and confirmed a Tuesday morning pick up and delivery. The car arrived at my door by 11:30AM.

The carrier, Auto Hauler Transport, arrived on time. Dave looked over the car on pick up and found 17 scratches and 9 chips which were logged, so there were no questions about the condition of the car. he has one keen eye!

Dave had to climb into the car through the window because his trailer wheel wells were too high and the Firebirds door could not be opened. By entering the car in that way, he must have jolted the lock stem and the car door could not be opened from the inside or out. Seeing that I could not get into the car myself ( I'm over 60 yrs old) , I asked Dave if he would drive the car into the garage, which he did. Now I have another problem, which I did not know, until later, that the shifter is stuck in 4th gear and will not budge. I know Dave used reverse when he backed the car out of the van and I know he used a gear to drive to the garage. What I can't figure out is how the shifter is stuck in 4th.

The weather and my mechanics timetable must be matched so I can have an analysis completed on what caused this condition.

I will let Auto Hauler and Direct Express know my findings and I am sure if there is a problem associated with how the shipment was handled, they will make good for the cost of repair.

Overall, I was very pleased with Direct Express and Auto Hauler and I will use them again.
