I had to ship my son's car from Phoenix, AZ to Akron, Ohio. I went to the Internet and searched for a transport company to provide the shipping service. The website had bid requests for about 30 carriers. I requested bids from about 10 carriers. I had never done anything like this before and I was not prepared for what followed. There was an avalanche of bids and phone calls. I examined the bids based on cost and reputation, but the process was so confusing. Many companies tried to tell me that a low bid would not get picked up by any truck. I was really confused about what to do. I then happened to call Direct Express because their bid that was at least $100 to $200 less than the closest bid. The lady on the phone was very professional and knowledgeable. I told her I needed to check further and she said that was fine. There was no pressure at all. The next day I called Direct Express and paid the fees to ship the car. In about 15 minutes they sent an email indicating they had a truck to pick up the car in Phoenix.
The trucker picked up the car in a few days at the appointed time and place. When he got to Ohio he called to tell me where he was at. My son and I went out to meet the truck and pick up the car. By the time we got there the car was off the truck. I examined the car and there was no damage to it. I paid the trucker the money with a bank check and drove off. This was the smoothest transaction. Direct Express was terrific. I will use them in the future if I ever need a car transported anywhere.
