First time shipper coast-to-coast and the overall experience was painless. Entered order online, was assigned a carrier in 2 days, carrier picked up the car the day after that, and I received the car at the destination 5 days later, which was 2 days earlier than scheduled. I did not have to speak to anyone except the carrier. I did add an extra $50 to give to the carrier (using the Standard rate) to bump me up the list a little bit, but I wanted to be assigned as early as possible.
The pickup was scheduled for 11AM-1PM, but the carrier didn't arrive until 4PM due to traffic. It was not a big deal for me since I was home all day. However, others might not be as forgiving. In any case, it was rectified because the delivery was 2 days earlier than expected.
The car was a bit dirty, but I went with Open transport so there's no avoiding that. Go with Enclosed transport if you want to keep your car clean.
I would definitely go with Direct Express again if I ever need to ship a car.
