Good broker, okay carrier

After all the reviews on transportreviews.com, I was very careful when selecting a broker. Direct Express was 5-star rated, and gave a very competitive estimate, so I went with them, even despite some very negative reviews. I was very nit-picky with the carriers they assigned me, and Direct Express was very willing to reassign me to carriers if I wasn't satisfied with the one they assigned to me. They did this a total of 3 times, and didn't lose their patience with me, noting they understood that I had to feel comfortable with the carrier. They weren't the most enthusiastic or friendliest people I've talked to, but they weren't outwardly rude.
The carrier, High Street Transport, was, for the most part, an excellent carrier. However, my car arrived slightly damaged - the left back bumper had shifted and caused a gap between it and the car, and some metal part is now slightly sticking out of the car. The driver, Wayne, was very nice up until we started talking about how to settle the damage. He complained about how his insurance had a high deductible and stated that if he was going to pay me to fix the car, that I had to send him the part to ensure that I actually fixed it and didn't pocket the money. I thought this was ridiculous because regardless of whether I fix the car, I'm owed compensation for the damage to my car and the decrease in its re-sale value because of it. The situation was settled, and while the damage (as he states) was probably caused from the wind and not necessarily negligence on his part, he shouldn't have made accusations about me being "shady" about my intentions. Nonetheless, he was good about communicating before and during the transport, and was accomodating of my schedule, and was generally a nice guy.
