Poor review is reflection of actual carrier rather than broker

It's too bad that the only way to rate the whole experience is to put it all on the broker. Dependable merely posted the opportunity on a central dispatch board and then Gabriels Car Transport picked my van up. I made sure we got the phone number of the carrier when the car was picked up but when it was late arriving in Austin, I called and had an almost impossible time communicating with their staff, which spoke very minimal English. Not only did they not speak English, they were terribly rude and hung up on me when I called on a Sunday to see where the car was. When I called 8 days after pick up, they could not even tell me if the van had left Portland yet. They had "no idea" which is of course not true.

When the car did finally arrive in TX, the driver wanted me to meet him on a larger street. I had to stand my ground and remind him we paid for door to door service. I had three young children with me and to walk to where he was proposing was just not possible. He finally agreed to drive it to the house, but then I had to drive him back to his truck. Van was dirty but on a positive note nothing had been damaged or stolen.

Overall, it was not a great experience, and I'm sorry that Dependable has to take the brunt of the criticism because their part was fine. Kim was knowledgeable, experienced, and patient with questions and explained the process well. I chose them after reading their many positive reviews on this board. I regret I can't be one of them.

We do apologize for the inconvenience to this customer. Obviously, this was NOT the most ideal situation. Sometimes language barriers can pose a problem in this idustry, but lack of information is not a good customer service key. We do appreciate the updates that we get from our customers. It allows us to know which trucking companies to continue to do business with and which companies don't meet our customer service standards.
