OK, here's the facts as to my experience. In trying to contract to have my recently purchased muscle car transported from Ca to IN, I did a google search of contract brokers and researched them with my limited knowledge of the industry. I asked for quotes from six different brokers and received varying responses and prices. Upon making my needs and concerns clear, I made the decision to go with Champion Auto Brokers and dealt exclusively with Luke Champion ph817-500-3316. A pleasant guy and easy to work with overall. What I discovered in the process is that pretty much all brokers use a process called Central Dispatch, where your contract is posted for all carriers to see and decide if they want to accept the load at the quoted contract price. DO NOT PAY MORE than the contracted price for any reason and make sure you know who the Carrier will be and ask for their insurance and licensing documents to be faxed to you before pickup. Your broker should verify this info for you, however MAKE SURE IT"S VALID AND UP TO DATE. The broker probably won't be the one to rectify your claim if there's a problem. Make copies of your contact and contract info for your records and in the event you have a problem. You can do some research on this site. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and expect answers.
I did run into any of these issues with Luke Champion, but do your homework. The Carrier that took my offer and contracted to pick up my vehicle was Coast To Coast Auto Transport. Ms Danni was their rep ph 800-916-3741 and the driver was Jeff 949-204-7620. Easy to work with and did a good job for me. ARRIVED ON TIME, NO DAMAGE, CLEAN!!
Luke was experiencing the loss of a family member during our business and still did a good job and got me what I needed at a fair price. I'd use him again if I need transport. A 5 Star Experience!
