I did a lot of research before selecting Cascade. There are many horror stories out there about less than stellar performance and people having to shell out money in advance and then being held up for more. There is not one single shipping company that does not have a long list of problems reported by their customers. To be sure there are dissatisfied Cascade customers as well, but darn few. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name, but with a quick search one can find sites that will send your information to a number of companies to get you a quote. I used two different services and received about 8 quotes in all. Cascade was NOT the cheapest, but it was on the lower end. Research on the cheapest companies quickly had me running away from them. Cascade has an excellent record, few complaints and by the time I actually called to respond to the quote, I felt I had a good handle on what shipping my vehicle would entail. The person who caught my call was Jeff. He was very knowledgeable, open and honest. He let me know exactly what I was up against, since there are very few movers who will handle anything to Maine since it is so out of the way. Another vehicle trying to get sent to Maine (non-running) had been "on the board" from another vendor for months. As a result, I slightly increased the amount offered for my vehicle. Subsequently, Jeff raised it again, but in the end there were no takers. I believe that the amount offered to move my vehicle would have been snatched right up if it had been going to a more populated location, but Maine being kind of out of the traffic pattern did not result in a nibble. I ended up pulling the plug on this venture, and even then Jeff was courteous and professional, and although I did not use them, he asked if I would rate my experience. Because of the way Cascade does business, this has cost me nothing - they do not charge unless and when they have a transporter who has accepted the offer. Since no one took it, even though Cascade had to do some work on it, there is no cost to me. The lack of a transporter was NOT a Cascade fault and the amounts offered were NOT low-balls to the transporter. I would not hesitate to contact Cascade for future needs.
