Worst Shipping Experience

I was originally contacted by Cascade Auto Transport after filling out a shipping quote request for Magic Carpet Auto Transport; they are owned by the same company or group of individuals. So when you fill out a request on the one site, it goes to about 5-10 different broker's offices.

Anyway, I prepaid $1,400 which was more than the quote I received from Magic Carpet and a quote Cascade said they would match. After a few days Malia said she thought I should offer more money because no trucker was interested, so I agreed to $200 more. Again, after a few days, she said I needed to offer more money, so I again agreed to offer $200 more (to a total of $1,800). Finally it got to almost two weeks later and Cascade still wanted me to offer more money than the $1,800 I agreed to. Long story short, that prompted me to cancel my order, I subsequently placed an order with 1st Call Auto Haul who secured a carrier within 3 days at a total cost of $1,692. The gentleman at 1st Call said the reason Cascade couldn't get my car moved was because of high brokerage fees and the fact that they pay their truckers 30 days after the car is dropped off.

Furthermore, Cascade still has not refunded me my $1,400 they charged my credit card after I cancelled my order on May 4th.

I've shipped two cars in my life, and this was the worst experience I have ever had. Had bait and switch written all over it.

Andrew, you wanted me to price match Magic Carpet and I did and you understood the Terms and Conditions of the price match policy, after 5 days we adjust the rate back to the original quote. You were in such a hurry to get the vehicle moved by calling me several times a day that I had no option but to instruct dispatch to call trucks to see what they would move it for! Just because a car does not get moved at the bid we have on the board one day doesn't mean it won't get moved the next day at that same rate (this is called AVAILABLE TRUCK SPACE). I told you prepaying your entire balance up front could lead to a delay in transport because trucks typically want COD. I am happy you got your vehicle moved and happy you found a broker who THINKS he knows how and when we pay our trucks. Your refund request was submitted to our accounting department the day you cancelled your order. Good Day! MALIA
