My horrible and traumatic experience with steve carr and carr transporters/ titans transporters; MC# 518293 DOT# 1370317 based in NJ and FL.
I recently searched on line for an auto shipper to ship my car from NJ to Texas and I was refered to carr transporting inc. by moversweb.org. I was told my car would be delivered within 7 to 14 days. After paying for the shipping, I was informed that someone would call me the day before scheduled pickup. But once I paid carr transporting , that was the beginning of my misery. No one ever called me the day before the pickup. I called later that afternoon and I was informed by Melissa of carr transporting that my car was scheduled for pickup the next morning and that someone would call me first thing in the morning which never happened. I called carr transporting all morning and early afternoon but no one returned my calls. They finally showed up for the pickup on july 2, 2005.
After 1 week of not hearing from carr transporting, I called and was told someone from carr transporting inc would call me back. For the next three weeks I called carr transporting and got the same story of some one calling me back but no one did.
Finally on Wednesday July 20, 2005 I called around 2pm and a lady promised to call me back as usual and never did. I called back later and they refused to pick my called so I left a message, the call was not returned. I called back later and spoke to Steve Carr (he claimed to be the owner of carr transporting) who said they were in a meeting so someone would call me back in about 30mins. No one did. So I called back and a lady took the phone I explained my situation(for the 13th time) with Carr Transportings/ titans transporters to her and she asked me to hold. She went and called Steve Carr who came with a very rude attitude, yelled at me that he told me they were going to call back and then hang up on me. I called back and he threatened to go and leave the car in Utah or Tennessee or do whatever he pleases if I didn’t stop calling.I told him all I wanted to know was what happened to the car I shipped with Carr Transportings almost 3 weeks ago and he threaten to hang up on me again, so I had to end the call.
My car was finally delivered on July 26th (after 24 days although I was assured of a 7 -14 day delivery before I signed and paid for the shipping) only after I had reported carr transporting inc to the Federal Motor Carrier Administration. In the contract carr transporting inc said they would pay for car rentals after 21 days. I tried to contact then for a refund for rentals and after 4 emails over a period of almost 3 weeks. I get this email from carr transporting inc. “The twenty one day time frame is the time on the transport truck, not to include pick up's and drop offs. Your transport does not fall into that catagory, and you are not entitled to any reimbursement. Thank You......Accounting Manager”
Be careful using companies recommend by moversweb. I contacted them and just like carr transporting, no one responded.
