Update (still awful)

So I already posted a review, but thought I would update you on my status.

So I cancelled with Betterway and hired another company. They actually did what they promised and I was very pleased. Since then I have been trying to get a hold of anyone at Betterway who will help me.

After being put on hold a number of times (but never attended to, which is how Betterway rolls) I was greeted by a very hostile guy who sarcastically thanked me for my review on this site. He proceeded to belittle me and try to make me feel stupid for everything that went down with them. I am a college professor, so I don't take lightly to condescension. Anyway, as soon as I told him what had happened, and as soon as he realized they were totally in the wrong he hung up on me. Seriously, he just hung up on me. That was the third time I had been hung up on by someone from betterway. I am a rational, reasonable person who never raises his voice, so I was taken back by their utter refusal to communicate in a cordial manner.

That very day, I got a very pleasant email from a "Lisa" who claimed the business had been compromised and who apologized for everything and told me that she would personally see that I got my refund. In fact, she even used Anthony's original line that it would be "a couple of days". She even copied me on an email to a Mr. Zeitlin asking if my refund had been processed. Again, more trickery to try and get me to give up. Now I pursue it as a quest, a kind of personal goal because I hate when people get screwed over like this. It's been about 10 and I have not heard back from anyone at Betterway, nor have I seen my deposit.

I have a good friend who is an attorney who has told me to give them the required processing time (30 days) that they spell out in their payment agreement. Because that time has come and gone, I am now going to pursue it legally. I am not excited about it, but I will not stop till it is resolved. I am seriously considering a small claims suit to recuperate some of my lost time and obviously the attorney fees.

The bottom line with this whole nightmare is that I just wanted the job done originally. When it was obvious that Betterway couldn't get it done, I just wanted my money refunded. I was even ok with their lame $25 processing fee (which is their way of getting at least some money out of every poor sap who gets lulled into their lies). I was not and am not being unreasonable in what I want. So once again, stay far away from these guys. And beware, because I wouldn't put it past them to close up betterway and start up the same scheme under another name. I wish there was a way to track that. Stick with the companies that have all positive reviews (dead give away that positive reviews are faked is when you have nothing in the middle. No legit company is going to get all horrible reviews or all awesome reviews) and check with the BBB before you give anyone a dime. You'll be glad you did.

I was going to go and update my transport review and say that I was insulted and offended that you demanded an apology before refunding my money, and that you sat on the refund until you got an apology, but I'll tell you what - if you leave me alone from now on, I'll leave you guys alone. That seems like a great deal for both of us. Travis
