My experience with Bears started off really great- the owners/customer service was very responsive and seemed to have everything confirmed for the exact dates that I wanted.
I was not made aware, however, despite my making these plans at least 4 weeks in advance, that these dates were VERY TENTATIVE- I was informed just 3 days before my cross-country move that the dates I had planned to have the cars moved were not available- that the drivers don't confirm their "loads" until the week before, so we were now at their mercy. I had to have someone else be there to load my cars, since my cross-country flight left before they could be picked up.
At the time of pickup the driver wasnt aware that one of my cars had a hitch with a bike rack on it- which couldnt be removed. in the future, Bears transport should ask if vehicles have been altered such as with a hitch, etc to account for extra length- as they do on auto ferry rides. The driver was very concerned and charged us an extra $200 for his inconvenience- he also claims to have gotten a ticket on the cross-country drive due to our over-length vehicle (another $200+ that he wanted us to pay to him). This was not Bears' fault directly, however I should have been asked more details of my autos by them in order to prevent this last-minute hassle and its huge financial implications.
