I was transporting a Subaru CrossTrac from New Jersey to Memphis, TN. The experience of requesting a quote over the internet was a little nuts because of all the responses and phone calls that are generated, and keep on coming for several days. After doing some research and replying to a few companies I chose to work with Autostar Transport. My biggest issue is the fact that the original quote was for $650 and I ended up paying $775. Yes I agreed to this amount because it appeared that was the only way I was going to get the car shipped. What I came to understand is this process involves three separate operations, the Agent/Broker (Autostar), the actual trucking company and then the actual truck driver. Each component has an effect on timing and cost. Not to mention that the actual truck is transporting other peoples vehicles which all have their own Agent etc. I must say that everything worked out in the end, the car was delivered on time and in as good a condition as it left. The Agent was competent and selected a reliable trucking company who had reliable truck drivers working for them. I would say they were all professional.
