When I decided to ship my car rather than drive with a trailer 2,000+ miles, I requested two quotes online and received back 15+. Whoa! How does one figure out who's who in this industry and their credibility? Gradually I sorted through reviews and Better Business Bureau remarks and selected two companies. The first was OK and a competitive quote, but Stephanie verified without prompting how the transport business works. Her quote was a bit more, but she spoke peace of mind for me.

The day my car was to be picked up the particular transport was hit by a car. Stephanie called with the bad news/good news. No pickup that day but already contracted with another carrier for pickup within 48 hours. The driver was courteous and explained how he was picking up other vehicles. He indicated that he would be able to keep the estimated delivery date and did. At no time did I feel the need to worry over shipping my car. Stephani is a professional.
