Great service, fair price

This company is a broker and will charge a ~$250 fee on top of the price of the transport (which you will pay to the driver on arrival). This may sound bad, but in reality every single company we could find was a broker, and I think it would take a lot of extra legwork to avoid using one.

Besides the broker fee, there were no extra charges except the cost of the transport paid to the driver, Abraham Express, which was $1400 for me. I understand this to be relatively high for the distance (~3000 miles), but apparently there are a lot of cars in Maryland that are waiting to be transported to California during the summer months. The $1400 price tag comes from bids that are made by the broker to the transport companies, which they can choose to take or not. The broker will typically start at a low number, and then increase the bid by ~$50 every day until a transport company accepts it. This is a good way to get a low price, but it can take longer for your car to get picked up. In my particular case, there were a lot of other cars bidding at high prices, so there was no real chance of a low bid being accepted. I also wanted the car to ship within a certain window of time, so I asked Auto Shipping Group to increase the bid to a more competitive amount.

Given that the price is bid on as I described, Auto Shipping Group will not be able to give you an exact price or pickup date until they actually schedule the pickup, which will be at most a few days from when it ships.

As far as comparing Auto Shipping Group to its competitors, we found our representative, Malia, to be extremely friendly and transparent. We also felt that given so many positive reviews on this site, this was a company we could actually trust. We ended up getting our car a few days early, with no damage to it at all or additional mileage. Drivers on pickup and delivery were friendly and on time, however we were given very short notice when they were available to meet (like 1 hour notice).

We would definitely use this company again for transporting a car.

PS: The incentive for reviews with this company is being entered into a drawing for a full reimbursement. I'm not sure if I'll qualify after mentioning this, but it's worth noting even though they are honestly a very good company.
