Second carrier was good, Angels' customer service commendable

The first carrier that Angels assigned did not show up on my requested date (12/26/07). I called the carrier directly since I didn't hear from them, and they (the carrier) told me that they assigned another driver to pick up my van (the reason was that they got my order (3) weeks before the requested date, and they didn't know their schedule back then), and they could only pick up my van on 12/28/07.

On 12/28/07, I called the carrier at 11:33 a.m. since I hadn't heard from the driver. The carrier (staff at the headquarters) told me that he didn't hear from the driver either. He called back at 1:06 pm (the same day) and told me that the driver was still in southern Illinois (due to rain and fog), and because I was to leave Florida for North Dakota on 12/30/07, he would send a flat-bed tow-truck on 12/29/07 to pick up my van and put it in a terminal (at the carrier's cost). Their driver would pick up my van when he arrives in Florida [who knows when].

I had qualms about dealing with the first carrier given the two delays. After careful consideration, I called Angels that afternoon and turned down the service and towing suggestion offered by the first carrier. I asked Angels to look for another carrier for me on the same day (12/28/07), and my van had to be picked up on 12/29/07 (the latest). Angels was able to find me another carrier shortly after I called them. My van was picked up by the second carrier (Rod Express) and was delivered to me on 1/6/07 as promised by the driver. I am pleased with the service offered by Rod Express. The driver, Ron, was excellent and courteous.

Angels' overall customer service was outstanding and commendable. I appreciate them calling the driver on my behalf to check on the transit/delivery status. They were very, very helpful when things didn't work out with the first carrier. They even called me and the driver on a weekend (Angels is closed on weekends) to do some follow-up.
