transporter (trucker) vs broker (angels moving)

If you are thinking about transporting your car, understand that there are two parts to EVERY transportation company. Half of it is the broker, which is Angels Moving in this case. The other half is an independent trucking company (usually a trucker) that the broker makes a contract with. Nationally, there is this same pool of truckers that all brokers use, and the less you pay for the transport fee, the lower quality the trucker you get (I am presuming).

Every independent trucking company I have ever dealt with are piss poor (I wonder if its because I always try to get the cheapest price?). Here are a list of things I did not like for this particular transaction I am reviewing - again, keep in mind that this is for the independent trucking company I dealt with:
1) Pickup time was 5 hours late, communication to me about the ETA of the pickup time was NON-EXISTENT. I had to, literally, sit around at home waiting for the man to call me so that I can have him pick up my car.
2) Took 14 days to ship my car. Angels Moving had to call me and let me know that their was a "malfunction" of the truck that was transporting my car which required a few days to fix. Again, I had NON-EXISTENT communication of this matter from the trucking company themselves.
3) My car arrived after 14 days. No apologies about the delay in transportation. Just a quick unloading of my car on a side-street.
4) My car had a new scratch from the transportation. I was able to get a $100 refund to cover this scratch, with the help of Angels Moving, of course.

Now about Angels Moving, they are a terrific broker company with excellent customer service. It is ironic how friendly and helpful they are in comparison to these horrid independent trucker companies. I wish this company good success and would recommend them to anyone close to me.
1. the ladies who answer the phones (I think I spoke with 3 different persons in total) were very friendly, helpful, and even flirty sometimes. They call you after every few days to give you a status update.
2. I needed my car to ship in a particular date. No other broker company was able to fulfill this need. Angels Moving was the only company who guarantee my car being picked up at a specific date (which was less than 7 days away!) and I am very grateful for this. They called me back with a response within 1 hour, this gave me the impression that they really hustle for your business.
3. Eric, the only male I spoke with, helped me out with getting reimbursed for the scratch on my vehicle. I'm just glad I got quick cash and did not have to go through the insurance policy protocols.

Thanks Angel Moving! You are a shining light in the ugly fog that is the auto transport industry!
