I bought a 1995 Buick Roadmaster Wagon from a friend in New York.

Unfortunately, I did not know about this site. If I had, I would have chosen a different shipping company.

Alas, I used American Pride Autoride. What a mistake.

American Pride uses subcontractors apparently. My Wagon was picked up on March 9th.

The driver hit an overpass, totalling two cars on the top of the transport, and damaging my station wagon.

My wagon has a "Vista Sunroof", or had, I should say. The sunroof was destroyed, as was the roof rack. The roof before the roof rack is dented and scratched. The rear bumper cover is scratched and gouged. The exhaust system is bent and now leaks at the right manifold. There is a huge powersteering leak also now. The driver's door is dented, as is a piece of trim on the driver's door.

I spoke with the owner of the transport company and the driver several times from March 9th to the delivery date of March 18th. They NEVER mentioned the damages, that apparantly occurred on March 9th or 10th.

The car arrived at night, and I had to take delivery in a grocery store parking lot. It was then that I found out about the damage.

The interior was wet, dirty, and filled with broken glass. It's sad to see perfect leather seats treated this way.

I filed a claim, and have seen the insurance adjuster for the company. I do not know the outcome of my claim yet.

I am unhappy because:

1) American Pride had poor communication with me to begin with.
2) The subcontractor they used... well, let's just say it has to be the worst company ever...
3) The truck that carried my wagon was at least 40 years old, and rusty. So much so, that my car had huge flakes of the carrier trucks rust in it and on it. (Yes, I took a lot of pics on delivery, and of the process, including the ancient rusting truck/trailer)
4) The company damaged my car, and did not inform me. For well over a week. Even though I spoke with them many times.
5) Now I am dealing with the insurance company, who has been rude, condescending, and terrible to work with (except for the adjuster....so far).
6) I am told that will have to claim the first 1000 dollars from the truck company itself, as it's deductible. After seeing their employees and their equipment, I fear I won't see a penny from them.
7) I am sick that I paid 1200.00 for this experience.

What ever you do. Don't use American Pride Autoride.
