Thanks to Graham, Sherryne and my driver from Tucson whose name I cannot remember.
If you are not familiar with this business and shipping a car I recommend several things:
0. Make sure shipping your vehicle is really what you want to do and know why. It will help you in your plan.
1. Plan ahead several months and learn the ins and outs so you. To me this system is medieval in overall organization and includes aspects of chance and profit-seeking; it is not a system for someone who is rigid and controlling.
2. Talk constantly to the person who is running your contract. Once you learn the basics of the system you'll understand why.
3. Remember the element of chance on pick-up day.
My overall experience was positive and even though I paid more overall than I would like to have (though not excessively) it was worth the money in light of buying a plane ticket and repeating a 3-day 1,800 mile drive.
Amerifreight staff were congenial and helpful. I appreciated their time even if it was not exactly when I called them. They were good in communication with me and took the time to insure I made no move in ignorance.
Recommend Amerifreight to anyone who really knows what they want. My personal goals lined up with their capabilities well. Recognize that will not be the case for everyone but I am satisfied.
