The experience with Amerifreight was good. The contact person keeps track of all of your information and explains the process thoroughly. It is an unusual process in that they are only the broker, so after you set up the contract, all of your dealings are with the transport company, which can be one of hundreds of companies apparently.
The biggest decision is whether to pay the extra $295 to have a two day pickup window. Because we were in a hurry, we decided to do it, and it was very , very quick. I finished the paper work on Monday and within hours, they had a company interested. By Wed my car was on it's way. 6 days later it was delivered in CA.
The only irritation with the actual transporter (Pioneer) was that the driver was three hours late because he said he "needed to sleep" during the time he was to pick up my car. I had to rearrange my work schedule at the last minute to accommodate this. The other issue (again with the transporter) was that we disagreed about the condition of the car at pick-up, with the driver marking many places as dents where as they were not dents in my opinion. However that really didn't matter as the car was delivered in good shape- no damage whatsoever.
On a positive note, the delivery in CA was amazing. My daughter, who was receiving the car, was at her first day of her new job and couldn't receive the car until late in the afternoon. Even though the transporter was in her area mid-morning, they essentially waited patiently until late afternoon when someone could meet them. That was really appreciated.
So I would say our experience was good and we would definitely use the company again.
