This is the first time I have ever shipped a car and overall I enjoyed the process (as much as one can). I shipped my car from Southern California to Michigan and drop-off to pickup was 10 days. Communication was easy and Erica was patient with my questions, which was helpful for a first time car shipment. I was able to add personal items to the car (~300 pounds), which Erica helped coordinate with the trucking company. One aspect I really enjoyed was the use of text communication. It made things much simpler (especially when trucking companies were picking up my car shipment request). The trucking company I worked with was also excellent in terms of communication similarly using text. This worked well for me. I don't have anything negative to say about the process. Each person I worked / communicated with was professional and respectful. One thing I learned was the timeline between posting my car with AmeriFrieght and locking in a trucking company to make the shipment. I learned that if I post my car with AmeriFreight 6 weeks prior to my intended shipping I should expect to not hear about a confirmed trucking company / pick-up date until ~7 days prior to the shipment date. I was told this, but it might be helpful to detail out the timeline more clearly. The only other point of confusion was adding the additional weight of personal items to my car. Adding the items and getting the car shipped was smooth and I had no issues once assigned to the trucking vendor. However, during the communication of the hand-off between AmeriFreight and the trucking company that picked up my car assignment, I had quite a bit of confusion on what I was going to be charged for the additional weight. It ended up working out completely fine and I am very satisfied with having been able to add those items via Erica's help. Overall, I had a great experience and learned a lot for my first time shipping a car. If I need to do this again I would come back to AmeriFreight.
