Coast to coast

If you have a move like mine - coast to coast - contemplate selling your car and everything in your house. Unless you company pays for the move and the insurance. Even then if you get a lump sum, you are better off starting anew in the new place.

All the transport brokers are the same - they use the same database - truckers look up the requests in the database and bid on them. The brokers make a profit by getting a trucker in touch with a customer. Other than this they have no other control. I imagined something sophisticated like tracking where my car is etc - just forget it nobody can provide it.

Amerifreight was fine. They got my cars picked up in less than 48 hours. But the delivery was out of their hands. They provided me the trucker's cell phone number and the guy was rude at best. The cars arrived way later than I expected and I had to pay for rental car. There were no damages but the masking tape they put on my car to indicate prior scratches was a bad idea - the glue does not go away now.

All in all - very stressful but it is all a luck of the draw. From a trucker's standpoint, if he can get the truck full quickly he will start driving - if not he will stay put in the origin city until he gets a minimum number of cars on the truck. In my case, the truck did not leave Florida for 12 days!!!

Our goal is to provide quality service to our customers, not only through our office staff, but also through our carriers. We desire to only partner with carriers that provide a top rate service to our customers. When our customers have a poor experience, as in this unfortunate situation, we are sure to make note. We will not continue to work with carriers that do not provide good and respectable service to our customers.
