HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

AmeriFreight set up the transport of our Miata MX5 with American Star Transportation. The car was delivered 7 days after the estimated delivery time. Upon arrival the driver failed to put the car in reverse (stick shift) and drove into the car in front, damaging the front cowling. My daughter was receiving the car and they said if we didn't accept a reduction in the transportation cost to cover repairs or they would reload the car and take it back to Philadelphia and that they had no idea when we might get the car back. This was stated as a threat (take it or leave it) and since we needed the car, we really had no option so we advised our daughter to sign off on the bill of lading with a $300 reduction for a repair that will probably a lot more. After we arrived the next day and cleaned and inspected the car further we found numerous scratches and rub marks where they installed hold down straps over the car. They apparently left the windows down, the inside mats were wet and muddy with water puddled on plastic we left on the passenger seat. The front spoiler was also damaged.

AmeriFreight can understand the frustration of our customer because of the unacceptable service from the carrier that shipped their vehicle. It is disappointing that we have been penalized for the carrier's service which we had no control over. We will take whatever steps necessary to ensure that this carrier will not be used for any future shipments with us. It is always best for customers to submit separate reviews for carriers' poor services.
