Military PCS, first car transport. Pleasant Experience but over the quote

I do not have the time to rate both the Agent and the Carrier separately so please read the entire review if you would like information on both. This was our first time shipping a vehicle and were nervous and unsure of what to expect. Our transport was complicated by the fact that we were already at the destination and had to have a family member help facilitate the 'transaction' at the pickup location which included trying to align schedules. Josh C. at AmeriFreight did a good job of explaining everything and did not appear frustrated or annoyed when we required confirmation on details or when we refused the first two carriers because their quotes we well outside of what we were originally quoted ($300 difference)
We paid NO MONEY up front working with Josh. We paid $250 via credit card over the phone once the carrier was confirmed and paid the balance to the carrier in cash upon his arrival with our vehicle.

Working with Josh was a pleasure, we did have to make corrections to the spelling of our names and addresses but as with any contract you'll need to confirm the specifics. The ONLY negative was that our original quote was $450, and we ended up paying a total of $650. Thankfully we planned ahead and sort of expected to pay more although we would prefer quotes to be accurate.

Fawcett Trucking, the carrier was wonderful!!! Merle called the day before pickup in Kentucky and scheduled with our family member for the next day at 9 am. He arrived a few minutes early and was patient that she was not quite ready, he delivered to us in Maryland the same evening about 10:30 pm. The car arrived in the same condition as at the time of pickup and on time as promised. We would highly recommend both companies and plan to go the same route the next time we move.
