My husband was worried that the car would not arrive in Arizona before we did - so I chose to pay the extra $75 to guarantee an exact date for pick-up. As soon as I filled out my on-line form, I received a call from Amerifreight's scheduling office - and they were able to book my car pick up within a day as one of their regular transporters was about to leave for Arizona. Sam's Transport is located in the town next to Phoenix, where we were headed. I had the car delivered to my father's house as we were not due to arrive until after the car was scheduled to get there. As it was, I was glad my dad was home when the driver called him as he was considerably earlier than we had expected - by a day! Actually we found out the next week when we drove a van the same distance, that we could make it in 4 days as well, because there was barely any traffic the entire way. I guess the gas crisis was really responsible. However, even with the high gas prices, Amerifreight had almost the lowest quote. The difference between their quote and the lowest was the personality of Amy Wood, who was my contact at Amerifreight. The first night I called, she answered, and was able to answer all my questions and the following morning when I callled back with a few more, she answered them as well. She made me truely feel that I would receive my car in the shape I was shipping it in using her company, because they knew their drivers and trusted their integrity. I also was talked out of a closed carrier - which would have cost more - because she said at the time of year I was shipping, I did not need it. As it turned out she was right - the car arrived in perfect condition.
