We needed to move our truck from Whidbey Island, WA to San Diego, CA. I chose Amerifreight because they had excellent reviews. The quote given was reasonable ($545), so I paid the deposit f $250. Jessica was issued as our shipping agent. Jessica wasn't much help, was terrible about returning calls, and at times seemed defensive when we asked questions about when our truck would be picked up. Well, it was past 7 days so we called to find out what happens now. We spoke with George this time We were informed that our quote wasn't competitive because of where we live and if we want our truck shipped faster, we'll need to raise our asking price. I understand that we lived in the middle of nowhere, but I didn't create that quote. That quote was issued by Amerifreight to me. Why give me a low quote when you know vehicle moving companies won't accept a low quote to go out to the middle of nowhere? Just give me something closer to what is realistic. Well, now our quote was raised to $950, much higher than the original quote but since we were already in San Diego and needed our vehicle, we had no choice but to agree. Once we agreed to the higher asking price, things went much smoother. Our truck was picked up on Nov. 22, 2013 and arrived on Nov. 24, 2013, one day ahead of schedule. Our truck arrived a good condition, it just took near 20 days to get it to us. I would probably not use Amerifreight again. It took more than expected to get our vehicle to us, Jessica was difficult to get a hold of and not very helpful and we paid more than we expected to ship our truck.
