What AmeriFreight does for you is basically find a car carrier that fits your schedule/requests. They DO NOT transport your car by themselves. So suggestion/estimation AmeriFreight gives you is based on their "average" experience in the past, and not always correct foreach specific case. Since I had never transported my car in the US (from the west to east corset), I didn't know how car transportation compony dealt with things, which caused a substantial confusion in my move.
As is often the case with long-distance moving, I wanted to specify timing of car pick-up and delivery as precisely as possible. With regard to scheduling of car transportation, the service of AmeriFreight was unfortunately NOT satisfactory. They didn't care when I want my car to be picked up and delivered. What they cared was if a carrier is available for the date I suggest. My suggestion about scheduling was based on estimation AmeriFreight gave me, which included a plenty of safety margin and turned out to be useless especially in my case. I understand it is difficult and even risky for a car transportation company to explicitly tell customers estimation when car carrier will pick up your car, and when your car will be delivered at the destination, especially before finding a carrier. Anyway, facts are that I had to reschedule car transportation once, because first pickup date based on their "estimation" was too early, and that, even after the rescheduling, my car was delivered too early, and I had to travel 100 mile away from my new house to pick up my car left at a car station.
I admit my ignorance was one cause of this trouble. However, I also think there are considerable room of improvement in AmeriFreight side. At least, I think they should stop assuming all the customer are familiar with their system.
Finally I want to mention that the car carrier AmeriFreight introduced to me was EXCELLENT. I am satisfied with their service and great flexibility that dealt with my wrong scheduling.
