Good transporter, bad customer service

No follow through. Once deposit was sent, never heard from ASCT contact again. Auto transport brokers have one job - provide service from start to finish. This means finding a licensed carrier and keeping customer updated until vehicle delivered. ASCT did not do this. I contacted transporter directly many times to verify pickup and delivery times. Contact between customer and transporter should be minimal if broker is doing job. It is good to know transporter but most contact should be with broker. Otherwise why is middle person necessary?

Hire transporter directly if possible. You will need to do most work yourself anyway. All reputable transporters register with Dept of Trans. Check the USDOT and MC numbers at www.safersys.org.

Deregulation has changed auto shipping standards. No control over questionable transporters and brokers. I was lucky compared to others - vehicle was delivered without damage and transporter/driver was good. But I did much of the work and could have saved 1/2 if broker wasn't used. I read reviews and thought ASCT was good choice. Communication was good in beginning but completely stopped after money sent.

Recommendation:

1) Get a uhaul trailer if possible.
2) If not possible:
a) Read available broker/transporter reviews.
b) Hire transporter if possible (verify license, insurance, etc). If broker is a must, check ratings and look for recommendations.
c) Review BBB.org. Check for accredited businesses. Review complaints and resolutions. Rating is not 100% reliable but should be considered. In my case BBB was wrong.
d) Ask local car dealers for recommendations.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE?? This is in response to the assault on the integrity of All States Car Transport. You reserved your order with us online on 02/01/11 at 11:36 pm, by 02/02/11 9:34 am we assigned a driver and forwarded the conformation for pick up on 2/2/11 and deliver with in a day 2/3/11, the driver was at the pick up location on 2/2/11 and delivered the following day. Your deposit was tendered at the time the driver was assigned as per our contractual agreement. We provided you with excellent service and communication, I Danit the owner of the company spoke with you on the 2/2/11 after we advice you of the driver assignment, you called our company office and ask if he can deliver the same day, and I explained to you that it depended on the driver’s schedule, at that time I gave you the driver’s cell number and contact info and emailed you his insurance documents. We as a broker called the carrier the day of the pick up and the delivery and to make sure that the pick up and delivery time would best accommodate your days schedule with the least amount of disruption. As a broker I would gladly accept any useful recommendations that you can provide that would help /aide in our client/ customer care area. Per your own ranking we picked up and delivered on time – at this juncture we are at a lost as to what your negative experience could have been, I have left massages and I await your response.
