I moved an SUV from NY to KS in January. Went with Amerifreight first - very poor communication after they had my Auto on the board for bid. The Weather between the 2 states was bad but even when it was clear my car would not get picked up. Found out thru other brokers who were watching the boards for thier own loads that only $550, then $600 of my $795 was being paid to the Driver. Well in cruddy weather it takes more. After 2 weeks i dumped Amerifreight and went with David at All American Transport.
All American is open 6 days a week, picks up thier phone when you call and returns e-mails. They only charged $100 instead of $245 to place my order on the board. Better Service, better Price. Sure All American is a smaller company but I'm only moving 1 car.
With this broker system you end up getting the transport company that bids the car first. Brokers work with the transport companies - they are all middle men - may as well get a middle man that calls you back and is reasonabley priced!
All American did a super job for me.
