From what I can tell, All American in Burlingame is a good way to go if you need to have your car moved safely, but don't mind paying a bit more. They don't just slap your car up onto a nationwide registery where any trucker can respond and pick up your car. We've moved 3 cars with All American, and each one went off without a hitch. They came well recommended to us by people who had shipped cars with them previously. For one car we shipped, the price was spot on with other quotes I sought out, the other two were higher by $200-$400 for cross country hauls. We've been burned a couple of other times when just picking out a company, doing a bit of research on them and crossing our fingers, so generally prefer now to stick with what we know is safe.
I tried shipping from the east coast to the west coast with All American last month. Everyone I talk to is saying prices are up for that route due to the number of flood damaged cars (hurricane sandy) being shipped out of here. But, I am wondering if west coast only, or at least originating on the west coast, might be a more cost effective way to ship with All American.
