In response, I would point out that we quoted this customer a price that was at the current market rate to pay truckers leaving Texas to San Francisco. As we move into summer carriers occasionally get backed up. Since this customer needed this expedited, I did suggest that they pay more so that we could post this to truckers at a higher price to expedite pick up. We usually do not have to up prices, but this was an exception. We do strive to quote our prices as such that cars will move quickly with reliable carriers.
For the record, once I posted this out to carriers above the market rate that we pay to carrier's, we had a truck scheduled. This customer also had a stipulation that this had to be delivered after 6/4.
I can honestly say that I was not rude to either James or his Mom. I actually had a very good conversation with their Real Estate agent to help them understand the situation since there was a bit of a language barrier. We always strive to be completely honest and straight forward in our dealings with customers.
