Hi I am an Australian I occasionally purchase classic cars in the USA for shipping to Melbourne Australia out of California

My last 2 cars I used Das auto shippers a little dearer than Able but with excellent service and tracking facility. For this car a 1974 Corvette Able was recommended to me so I asked for a quote, and I found there quote satisfactory, car was to be picked up in 5 days from Louisiana and delivered to California, seven days went by so I emailed Able expecting a return answer a few days later they did respond and said they were trying to locate a carrier. Another week went by so I telephoned Able they said we are trying to locate a carrier. I was not satisfied with there answer so I sought other quotes and I had approx 6 different carriers stating they could pick up the car within 3 days, I again emailed Able requested a pickup date or to refund my money in full another few days pass and I receive an email from Able that they have a carrier who can pickup tomorrow which was Saturday 7th January but they needed another $75 I emailed back send the carrier tomorrow. I am reneging on paying the extra $75 because I believe if you quote for a service that should be it.
I found Able unreliable, lacking in communication with me the customer and cerainly no customer service, wish I had read these reviews prior to booking and paying. I have since told the company that recommended Able they will not use them and nor will I, and to anyone else out there try to find a reliable honest company for just a fraction more. The carrier that shipped the car did so in a speedy way. I have not seen the car yet so I cannot comment on the condition of it at delivery point. Russell
