WE HAD OUR SUV SHIPPED FROM HAWAII TO OHIO AND GOT A QUOTE FROM ASAP (SHAWN) FOR THEIR SERVICE TO DELIVER SUV TO OUR HOME. ONCE THE SUV HAD BEEN PICKED UP FROM THE PORT IN HAWAII, IT WAS SHIPPED TO THE LONGBEACH, CA. PORT. ASAP TOLD US THEN THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND A DRIVER TO PICK-UP AND DELIVER SUV FOR THE PRICE THEY HAD QUOTED US. IF WE DID NOT PAY MORE, WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY STORAGE FEES TO THE PORT TILLTHEY COULD FIND A DRIVER WHO WOULD DO IT FOR THAT PRICE. SHAWN FROM ASAP GOT VERY UPSET WITH US BECAUSE WE WANTED HER TO HONOR HER QUOTE TO HAVE IT SHIPPED TO OUR HOME AND WE FELT SHE SHOULD PAY THE EXTRA FEES, NOT US. SHE SAID SHE COULD ONLY SHIP IT TO TOLEDO, OHIO OR COLUMBUS, OHIO FOR THE PRICE SHE QUOTED US, WHICH IS A 2 HR DRIVE EITHER WAY FOR US. OUR SUV WAS BASICALLY HELD FOR RANDSOM, SO WE HAD NO CHOICE TO AGREE TO PICK-IT UP IN COLUMBUS. WHEN YOU GET A QUOTE FROM THIS COMPANY, PRICE OR DELIVERY DESTINATION MEANS NOTHING........

The customer was quoted a price from Hawaii to OH which is good for 30 days on July 27th. This is a two part shipment which is a lot more difficult that just using a broker and 1 carrier. We (the customer and ASAP) are at the mercy of the port. The vehicle did not arrive to the mainland until the evening of Friday August 27th and once the vehicle arrives the port gives us(the customer and ASAP) 4 days to pickup the vehicle prior to storage fees. The customer sets up shipment and pays the port directly. There is no time constraint on when the customer drops the vehicle to the port in Hawaii the price does not change there. The price may be adjusted if an extended amount of time passes outside the 30 days which it did. Our normal pickup timeframe is 1-10 business days from the first available date of pickup which was Monday August 30th. We had drivers at the port but none that were going to Upstate Ohio within 4 days (which is our speedy guaranteed pricing). We spoke to the customer well in advance to let them know about the problems that may present themselves. Up to and including storage fees being charged to them by the port. Customer stated that they did not have any money to pay for fees and they could not meet the driver anywhere because they worked. We worked deligently to accomodate the customer. The customers son then called up and we explained to him the issue. He offered to pay half of the storage fees if any occured. We explained to him that we did not want to put him in that situation and explained that we had drivers that take that route but they would not be going to the Cleveland area. I told him several locations in Ohio where we could have the vehicle delivered and he informed us that he had a brother in Columbus which is on the route for several of our drivers. The customer seemed happy with this resolve and he thanked us. We strive to meet and exceed our customers expectations here at ASAP but there are some instances where there are hiccups. The end result was the customer received their car without having to pay any additional fees and received their vehicle in a timely fashion and in tip top condition.
