One Big Misrepresentation

I was quoted what turned out to be a low-ball price and given what turned out to be a fictitious pick up date for my car. I was originally quoted a total price of $645, this included the $170 broker's fee, to transport my car and it was scheduled to be picked up on the 6th of December. I called on the morning of the 6th to confirm that car would picked up and was told that they were delayed and it would be the 8th or 9th before they could get it. I called on the 8th to check the status and was informed that no one (truck drivers) were responding to their offer of $470 to transport my car. This was the first time that I learned they were hoping someone would move my car for the amount that they quoted me. I was then told that my car was definitely scheduled to be picked on the 10th or the 12th at the latest, this also turned out not to be true. It was at this time that I offered additional money to get my car moved and ended paying more than double the original price that was quoted, I paid the driver $1,000 to move my car. Most of the original quotes that I received when scheduling my transportation were in this range, I'm not necessarily upset at the amount I ended up paying just lack of honesty on the part of the broker. At no time during the process of scheduling my transportation was I told that they were merely hoping someone would move my car for the cost quoted, they led me to believe that this is what I would pay. My advice is just to pick someone near the upper end of your quotes and get confirmation that they have you scheduled with a driver. This was very frustrating and no one should ever hire these guys to arrange transporation for their vehicle.
