We called this company to arrange transport of a classic car we bought through Ebay from Michigan to California. The car was inoperable and would need to be winched onto the trailer. All of this was told to the company up front. The company quoted us $950. We thought this was way low compared to what other companies had told us and we asked several times to ensure that they understood the car was inoperable. Carlos was the person we were dealing with and he insisted that he could get a driver within a week and get the car transported for that price. We followed up about a week later to check the status, and he told us they hadn't found anyone yet. Another week passed, we called again, and we were now given to someone named Marta, who said that they had not found a driver yet and were still looking. We waited a few more days and called back and at that point Marta told us that we didn't put up enough money and no drivers wanted to pick up the car for the amount we were offering. What??? It was the transport company that gave us the amount, it wasn't a number WE pulled out of a hat. Now they were asking us to pay more money, we agreed to add another $100 to it. A few days later, we call again to check on what's going on (3 weeks have passed now since we signed the contract with them). At this point we are being told that Carlos is not availalbe and is out sick for the week. We asked to speak with a manager and that was a hassle. We finally spoke to someone who told us they could not find a driver and that we could cancel the contract if we wanted. That is exactly what we did and we are now paying a company a little more to do the transport, but in less than a day, they have already given us a pick up a date. We will NEVER use 7 Start Auto Transport again!! They made a promise to us in order to draw us in. They are not new to this business and I'm sure they knew that a driver would not pick up the car for that amount. Once they had us in a contract with them, then they tried to squeeze more money out of us. Pretty shady way of doing business, if you ask me.
