I chose 1st Choice Shipping (800-747-1095) because of the favorable reviews in this forum and because they were in California (not that this really makes a difference because they broker for truckers from all over the U.S.).

They hooked me up with Larry Brown of Service Plus Transport (918-688-6103). He and I talked on the phone to figure out when he could pick up my car and since I live on a court, I gave him directions to a nearby shopping center. He arrived a few hours later than he anticipated, which worked even better for me.

In the intake process, Larry noted all the superficial scratches and minor dents on my '96 Toyota Tercel, then loaded it on his rig. He picked it up on January 14 in Santa Rosa, CA and expected to deliver it to me in Hattiesburg, MS by the following Friday or Saturday.

The following Thursday night, I called to give him directions to the Wal-Mart parking lot in Hattiesburg and he said a rocker arm had broken in his engine and was being repaired. He expected to be on the road again the next day and to be in Hattiesburg on Monday, and sure enough, he was. I picked the car up that afternoon. There was no damage at all to it and -- above and beyond -- Larry was cleaning the windows on my car when I arrived! Who does that???

At any rate, I'm very pleased with 1st Choice's customer service and pricing, and with Larry's delivery. He stayed in touch with me throughout the trip and, in fact, told me that 1st Choice called him a few times to make sure everything was okay and that he had been in contact with me.

These guys all know their business and I recommend them highly. If I ever need to move a vehicle again, I'll contact 1st Choice and request Larry Brown.
