BEWARE Uninsured Transporter

1 Flat Rate Shipping LLC brokered the shipment of my BMW Motorcylce from Texas to Maryland. On their website, they falsely claim to be "Licensed-Bonded-Insured"

During the transporting of my vehicle by a shipper arranged through 1 Flat Rate Shipping, LLC, the motorcylce fell off the trailer and went bouncing off at a speed of 55 MPH resulting in a total loss of the bike. This happened on August 1, 2013. I have been going round and round with the shipper's insurance company only to find out that this shipper is using uninsured trailers and trucks to transport cargo. Since they are not listing all of their transport trucks/trailers on their policy, certain shipments are not insured. This is the case with my motorcycle and the insurance company is denying coverage since the truck/trailer isn't listed on their policy.

I called Ray the owner of 1 Flat Rate Shipping LLC to try to get some assistance since my bike was totalled and it didn't seem that the shipper had valid insurance. I stated to Ray, "it says on your websitethat you are "Licensed-Bonded-Insured" so can I file a claim against your insurance?" He flat out told me, "I am a broker, I do not have insurance" which is totally the opposite of what is represented. Ray was extremely rude and uncooperative, he refused to give me the last name of the owner of the shipping company and told me all I need to know is the guy's first name. My lawyer has since tracked down the shipper's last name. By the end of the conversation, Ray was actually screaming at me, would not hold a conversation with me and would not help me recover damages for my property. The only thing Ray repreated to me over and over was that I still needed to pay for my shipment even though they had wrecked my motorcycle and were not willing to pay for the loss. I plan to file a greivance with the Department of Transportation and with the State of California against this company. Shippers be ware. Ray should be ashamed of himself !!!
